Welcome to Jetties and Moorings

Hi, and welcome to Jetties and Moorings a well established friendly local firm with a reputation built on quality and reliability. We have worked on numerous projects on waters other than Windermere throughout the Lake District and beyond.

We are a tight knit team who have worked closely together over the past 34 years and have built up a great reputation throughout the North West. We have worked on numerous projects on Waters, Meres, Lochs, Rivers and Canals throughout the UK and Scotland.

Company background

Jetties and Moorings is a family run business and has been in operation for over 34 years, originally for the purposes of building and repairing Jetties and laying Moorings on Windermere. As time has passed, our range of expertise has grown. We now cover all our lakes, lochs, rivers and canals throughout England and Scotland. We have a vast range of services to do with water-orientated construction, from canal work, dredging and piling, to boathouse construction, slipways and groundworks.

A little bit about Windermere

Windermere lake, at 10.5 miles long, one mile wide and 220 feet deep, and containing 300 billion litres of water, is the largest natural lake in both the Lake District and in England, and is fed by numerous tributaries.

During the November floods of 2009, more than 372mm of rain fell over Cumbria during a single 24 hour period, resulting in the highest ever lake level. That was a record daily rainfall figure for the UK.
